🐶 A Day in the Life of Ace & Skye

Hi, furriends!

It’s us—Ace & Skye! We’re two beagle siblings living our best lives here in the South Bay. Today, we’re giving you a peek into our very official, extremely important daily routine. Spoiler alert: it’s packed with sniffs, naps, and lots of treats (or at least hopeful stares for treats).

🕡 6:30 AM – Rise, Shine & Potty Time

Our day kicks off bright and early at 6:30 AM. We’re crate trained, so the second our human opens those doors, we spring into action like little furry rockets. No time to waste—we must go potty! While we’re outside handling our business, our human preps Dad’s lunch bag inside. (We think it should include a snack for us too, but apparently that’s “not how it works.”)

Once we’re back inside, we give a big stretch, wag our tails like windshield wipers, and get ready for step two of the morning routine—grooming time!

🪮 6:45 AM – Morning Brushies

Before breakfast, we get brushed. Not because we’re divas (okay, maybe a little), but because it helps keep our coats healthy and our shedding under control. Skye absolutely lives for this moment—she practically melts into the floor with every stroke. Ace, ever the chill guy, acts uninterested but secretly loves every second. It’s our little spa moment before the chaos of the day begins.

🍽️ 7:15 AM – Breakfast: The Grand Feast

Food time! Honestly, this is the highlight of our entire morning. We attack our breakfast bowls like we haven’t eaten in days—Ace usually finishes first, and Skye gives him a look like “was that even chewing?”

Afterward, we do our patented “I’m still hungry” faces. Sometimes we get a baby carrot or a banana bite. Sometimes we don’t. Either way, we remain hopeful… and dramatic.

🚶‍♂️ 8:00 AM – Walkies & Sniff Patrol (1 Hour, 1 Mile)

At 8:00 AM sharp, it’s time to hit the pavement for our big morning adventure: a 1-hour, 1-mile walk. But this isn’t just any walk—this is a full-blown sniff safari.

We check every pole, tree, bush, and suspicious leaf like detectives solving a neighborhood mystery. Ace takes squirrel duty very seriously. Skye sniffs like she’s reading a long, emotional novel left by the dog next door.

Sometimes we stop to admire a butterfly. Sometimes we stop just to stop. Either way, we take our sweet time.

🌞 10:00 AM – Sunbeam Snooze Squad

Once we’re back home and our paws are wiped, we go straight into nap mode. Our morning walk really takes it out of us!

Ace always claims the best sunny spot in the yard and stretches in a yoga pose before curling up like a croissant. Skye likes to plop down with a big sigh. Sometimes we snuggle up close on the couch with mom. Sometimes we each do our own thing. Either way, we’re recharging—because beagle-ing is exhausting.

🎾 12:00 PM – Playtime Pandemonium

Once we’ve fully recharged, it’s go-time. Our living room becomes an obstacle course of toys, zoomies, and playful chaos.

Skye grabs her favorite toy and runs laps, making sure Ace doesn’t get it. Ace tries to outsmart her by playing it cool and then pouncing at just the right moment. Sometimes we end up in a friendly wrestling match. Sometimes someone gets the zoomies and runs in figure-eights around the furniture. It’s loud. It’s wild. It’s perfect.

🛋️ 2:00 PM – Cuddle Duty & Nap

Afternoons are made for cuddling. We rotate between our parents bed, couch snuggles, hallway flops, and trying to sit on our humans while they’re clearly “busy.”

Ace likes to nap dramatically nearby, just within belly-rub reach. Skye likes to curl up on laps (yes, even if there’s a laptop there). We might beg for snacks. We might bark at a bird. But mostly, we’re just here to vibe.

🍗 5:00 PM – Dinner & Supplements

When 5:00 PM hits, it’s dinner time again—and we never forget. Along with our dinner, we take our vitamins and supplements like good pups.

Ace prefers his in peanut butter. Skye doesn’t mind hers straight-up, as long as she gets a “good girl” after. We eat fast, lick our bowls clean, and then linger nearby like little vacuum cleaners, just in case.

🌆 7:00 PM – Evening Walks & Sunset Sniffing

As the sun starts to dip, we head out for our evening stroll. It’s not as sniff-heavy as the morning walk, but it’s peaceful and full of golden light and cool breezes.

This is when we really strut. We might spot a bunny or hear a distant bark. We take our time, enjoy the smells, and reflect on the day (yes, beagles can reflect).

🪥 8:00 PM – Brush, Balm & Bedtime Prep

Our bedtime routine is no joke—we’re pampered pups!

Before bed, we:

• Get our teeth brushed (minty fresh!)

• Have balm rubbed onto our cute little noses and paw pads

• Get our ears cleaned and wiped gently

We sit like angels for all of it (okay, not always), but we know the routine. We end it all with a good cuddle and some soft words from our human. Honestly? Best part of the night.

💤 9:00 PM – Crate Time, Music & Sweet Dreams

One last potty break before bed, and then we’re ready to snuggle up in our crates. Our human turns on soft bedtime music and our air purifier to keep the room calm and comfy.

Skye circles three times before settling in. Ace just flops down like he’s been hit with a sleepy stick. We drift off to the sound of lullabies and the scent of clean ears.

Dreams are usually about chasing squirrels. Or finding an unlimited treat dispenser. Or both.

🐾 The Beagle Life

Being a beagle is a full-time job. We sniff hard, nap harder, and love with our whole floppy ears and waggy butts.
